Meet the Orange County Team Behind Aspen Attic Insulation Orange County
We’re a small crew, and that’s on purpose. Every person on this team has crawled through Orange County attics in August, knows what 140-degree fiberglass feels like against their forearms, and still shows up the next morning because the job matters. We don’t rotate strangers through your house. The technician you meet on day one is the same person who finishes the work, answers your questions, and comes back if anything needs attention under the 365-Day Done Right Promise. Garrett Sloane has kept the crew tight since 2002, hiring people who treat your attic like it belongs to their own grandparents. Here’s who you’ll see at the door.
Our People
Mike R. – Lead Technician
Mike has spent 18 years in attics across Orange County, from Anaheim track homes to hillside builds in Yorba Linda. He’s our lead on spray foam applications and holds manufacturer certifications with Icynene and Demilec, which means he’s been trained on the specific chemistry and application windows for closed-cell and open-cell foam. When you ask why he recommends blown-in over batts in a particular roofline, Mike will give you a straight answer about air sealing and thermal bypass, not a sales pitch. Off the clock, he rebuilds old motorcycles in a garage that is, fittingly, better insulated than most living rooms.
Luis T. – Senior Installer
Luis joined Aspen in 2011 after years in residential construction, and he’s the person we send when an attic has tricky access, low clearance, or ductwork that looks like a plate of spaghetti. He specializes in blown-in insulation, running our GreenFiber and Owens Corning loose-fill jobs with an eye toward even coverage and proper depth. Luis can tell you exactly how many bags a 1,400-square-foot attic will need without checking the chart twice. He’s also the guy who insists on laying down plywood walkboards so nobody puts a boot through your ceiling. On weekends, you’ll find him coaching youth soccer in Santa Ana.
Dana W. – Service Coordinator
Dana is the voice on the phone when you call, and she’s been answering since 2016. She knows the difference between a blown-in quote and a spray foam scope, and she’ll ask the right questions about your home’s age, square footage, and existing insulation before scheduling a visit. Dana is why you won’t sit on hold or wait for a call back. She keeps the schedule moving, sends you the technician’s name and photo before the appointment, and makes sure the written price reaches you before any work starts. When she’s not coordinating, she’s restoring a 1970s bungalow in Orange and arguing with her husband about whether the attic should get Rockwool or CertainTeed.
Ethan C. – Apprentice Technician
Ethan is the newest member of the crew, training under Mike and Luis since 2023. He hauls the hoses, preps the work area, and drills the fill holes for dense-pack jobs, but he’s already earned his place by showing up early and asking smart questions. You’ll see him on most two-person jobs, and yes, he’s background-checked, identity-verified, and photo-badged just like everyone else who steps onto your property. Ethan is working toward his spray foam certification and currently leads the team in attic-crawl-space contortion, a skill he developed growing up in a 1950s Fullerton house with a crawlspace he describes as “basically a cave with nails.”
One Standard, Every Job
The Threshold Standard exists because our name is on this work, and so is Garrett’s. Every technician, from Mike down to Ethan, follows the same protocol when they arrive at your Orange County home: background-checked, uniformed, ID badge visible, and a photo sent to you before the van pulls up. If the person at the door doesn’t match the name and face you received, the visit is free and we make it right. That’s not a marketing line. It’s the way Garrett has run the Orange County location since 2002, and it holds across every Aspen location in the Threshold Group family. Each location is independently owned and operated, but none of them get to skip the standard. Written price in your hand before work begins. Materials from eight industry brands, matched to the job rather than whatever’s on the truck. And a 365-day guarantee, in writing, covering labor and materials, with a free second visit if any repair fails. That’s what your quote pays for. It’s also why Mike, Luis, Dana, and Ethan can look you in the eye when they say the work is done right.
